[ENG] We have become used to the idea that femininity in photography should often be delicate.

Soft light.
A subtle gesture.
A safe smile.
A little mystery, but not too much. A little sensuality, but in a form that does not make anyone uncomfortable.

[PL] Przyzwyczailiśmy się do tego, że kobiecość w fotografii często ma być delikatna.

Miękkie światło.
Subtelny gest.
Bezpieczny uśmiech.
Trochę tajemnicy, ale nie za dużo. Trochę zmysłowości, ale w takiej formie, która nikogo nie wytrąci z komfortu.

[ENG] But femininity has other faces too.

It can be dark.
Sharp.
Distant.
Provocative.
Silent.
Unsettling.

It does not always have to invite. It does not always have to explain its presence. It can look straight into the lens in a way that makes you wonder who is really in control - the photographer or the person on the other side of the camera.

[PL] A przecież kobiecość ma też inne twarze.

Może być ciemna.
Ostra.
Niedostępna.
Prowokacyjna.
Milcząca.
Niepokojąca.

Może nie zapraszać. Może nie tłumaczyć się ze swojej obecności. Może patrzeć prosto w obiektyw tak, że przez chwilę nie wiadomo, kto tu naprawdę ma kontrolę - fotograf czy osoba po drugiej stronie aparatu.

[ENG] This session was born from that kind of tension.

Not from the need to show a “beautiful body”.
Not from the need to create another set of aesthetic, sensual images.
Not from the need to fit into an image that can be easily described with one word.

What interested me more was creating a character.

[PL] Ta sesja powstała właśnie z takiego napięcia.

Nie z potrzeby pokazania „ładnego ciała”.
Nie z potrzeby zrobienia kolejnych estetycznych, sensualnych zdjęć.
Nie z potrzeby dopasowania się do obrazka, który łatwo opisać jednym słowem.

Bardziej interesowało mnie stworzenie postaci.

[ENG] Someone who is not just a model inside the frame, but the protagonist of her own story.

Someone who carries strength, coldness, magnetism and something slightly unsettling. Something difficult to name, but hard to look away from.

Because not every kind of femininity wants to be polite.

And that is a good thing.

[PL] Kogoś, kto nie jest tylko modelką w kadrze, ale bohaterką własnej opowieści.

Kogoś, kto ma w sobie siłę, chłód, magnetyzm i coś niepokojącego. Coś, co trudno nazwać, ale od czego trudno oderwać wzrok.

Femininity without the obligation to be pleasant

In female portraiture, it is very easy to fall into a pattern.

It should be beautiful.
It should be subtle.
It should be sensual, but “tasteful”.
It should be bold, but not too bold.
It should be confident, but still soft.

Kobiecość bez obowiązku bycia miłą

W fotografii kobiecej bardzo łatwo wpaść w schemat.

Ma być pięknie.
Ma być subtelnie.
Ma być zmysłowo, ale „ze smakiem”.
Ma być odważnie, ale nie za bardzo.

[ENG] As if femininity constantly had to pass through a filter of approval.

As if it had to ask whether it is allowed to be what it is.

Can it be stronger?
Darker?
More theatrical?
More unapologetic?
More aware of its body and its presence?

[PL] Jakby kobiecość cały czas musiała przechodzić przez filtr akceptacji.

Jakby musiała pytać, czy może być taka, jaka jest.

Czy może być mocniejsza?

[ENG] I am increasingly drawn to sessions where femininity does not have to be comfortable for the viewer.

I am interested in the moment when a portrait stops being merely beautiful and starts having character.

Here, I did not want the images to be “pretty” in the classical sense. I wanted them to have weight. Temperature. Something from film noir. Something from a gothic stage. Something from a theatrical performance taking place in an old interior that seems to remember more than it should.

[PL] A mnie coraz bardziej interesują sesje, w których nie chodzi o to, żeby kobiecość była wygodna dla odbiorcy.

Interesuje mnie moment, w którym portret przestaje być tylko ładny, a zaczyna mieć charakter.

[ENG] The model was not meant to be an ornament inside the frame.

She was meant to be its centre.

Not because she shows her body, but because she has presence.

That is a huge difference.

Sensuality does not begin with revealing the body

We often think about sensuality in a very literal way.

How much can we see?

But for me, sensuality in photography does not begin where the body is revealed.

It begins where tension appears.

Często myślimy o sensualności bardzo dosłownie.

In the gesture of a hand.
In the position of the back.
In the way someone sits, lies down, leans against a chair or turns their face away from the light.
In whether the person in front of the lens is merely being photographed, or whether she begins to have a silent conversation with the camera.

[ENG] In this session, the body is not decoration.

It is language.

A back turned toward the camera. A hand near the face. A leg resting on the chair. A gaze directed straight into the lens. Closed eyes. A head tilted slightly back. Fingers suspended in the middle of a gesture.

Each of these elements changes how the image is read.

[PL] W tej sesji ciało nie jest dekoracją.

Jest językiem.

Plecy odwrócone do obiektywu. Dłoń przy twarzy. Noga oparta o fotel. Spojrzenie skierowane prosto w kamerę. Zamknięte oczy. Głowa odchylona minimalnie do tyłu. Palce zatrzymane w pół gestu.

Każdy z tych elementów zmienia odbiór zdjęcia.

[ENG] Because sensuality is not only about revealing.

Sometimes control is far more powerful. Distance. Awareness of one’s presence. The fact that the person in the frame does not need to prove anything.

She does not beg for attention.
She does not force seduction.
She does not try to be “pleasant”.

She simply is.

And that is enough.

[PL] Bo sensualność nie polega tylko na odsłanianiu.

Czasem znacznie mocniej działa kontrola. Dystans. Świadomość własnej obecności. To, że osoba w kadrze niczego nie musi udowadniać.

Nie prosi o uwagę.
Nie kokietuje na siłę.

I to wystarczy.

Styling as armour

The mesh bodysuit in this session is not just a piece of clothing.

Of course, it is bold. Sensual. Graphic. But the most interesting part happens somewhere else.

In black and white, the mesh starts to work like a drawing on the body. Like structure. Like a layer that reveals and conceals at the same time. It emphasizes the body, but it does not take away its strength.

Quite the opposite - it turns it into something more theatrical, more conscious, more expressive.

Stylizacja jako zbroja

Siatkowe body w tej sesji nie jest tylko elementem garderoby.

Oczywiście - jest odważne. Jest zmysłowe. Jest graficzne. Ale najciekawsze dzieje się gdzie indziej.

[ENG] This is not delicate lace meant to soften the image.

This is form. Line. Rhythm. Contrast.

Combined with heavy high boots, it creates a completely different energy than a classic sensual session. More raw. More dominant. A little rebellious.

The paradox of this styling is that the more it reveals, the less it makes the model appear vulnerable.

This is not fragility.

This is armour.

[PL] To nie jest delikatna koronka, która ma zmiękczać obraz.

To jest forma. Linia. Rytm. Kontrast.

W połączeniu z ciężkimi, wysokimi butami tworzy się zupełnie inna energia niż w klasycznej sesji sensualnej. Bardziej surowa. Bardziej dominująca. Trochę niepokorna.

Paradoks tej stylizacji polega na tym, że im więcej odsłania, tym mniej robi z modelki kogoś bezbronnego.

To nie jest kruchość.

To jest zbroja.

Black and white not as a filter, but as a decision

This session was not originally meant to be black and white.

In my head, I saw it in colour. I love colour. I love the way it can build the temperature of an image, guide emotion and add another layer to the story even before we begin to analyse light, gesture or gaze.

But sometimes colour, instead of helping, starts saying too much.

And that is exactly what happened here.

Czerń i biel nie jako filtr, tylko decyzja

Ta sesja pierwotnie wcale nie miała być czarno-biała.

W głowie widziałem ją w kolorze. Lubię kolor. Lubię to, jak potrafi budować temperaturę zdjęcia, jak prowadzi emocje, jak potrafi dopowiedzieć historię jeszcze zanim zaczniemy analizować światło, gest czy spojrzenie.

[ENG] The longer I looked at these images, the more I felt that colour was pulling attention away from what mattered most to me.

It drew the eye away from the tension in the gaze, from the shape of the body, from the texture of the mesh bodysuit, from the shine of the skin and the weight of the interior.

Instead of strengthening the story, it began to distract from it.

[PL] Im dłużej patrzyłem na te zdjęcia, tym mocniej czułem, że kolor zaczyna zabierać uwagę temu, co było dla mnie najważniejsze.

Odciągał wzrok od napięcia w spojrzeniu, od rysunku ciała, od faktury siatkowego body, od połysku skóry i ciężaru wnętrza.

Zamiast wzmacniać opowieść, zaczynał ją rozpraszać.

[ENG] So at some point, the decision to use black and white appeared.

Not as an “artistic filter”.
Not as an easy way to add atmosphere.
Not as an escape from colour.

Rather, as a way to clean the image from everything that had become too loud.

[PL] Dlatego w pewnym momencie pojawiła się decyzja o czerni i bieli.

Nie jako „artystycznym filtrze”.
Nie jako prostym sposobie na dodanie klimatu.
Nie jako ucieczce od koloru.

[ENG] Black and white left only what mattered most.

Light.
Shadow.
The texture of skin.
The graphic lines of the mesh.
The shine of the boots.
The depth of the gaze.
The weight of the interior.

Monochrome removed literalness. As a result, the images became less descriptive and more emotional.

[PL] Czerń i biel zostawiła najważniejsze rzeczy.

Światło.
Cień.
Fakturę skóry.
Rysunek siatki.
Połysk butów.
Głębię spojrzenia.
Ciężar wnętrza.

Monochrom odebrał dosłowność. Dzięki temu zdjęcia stały się mniej opisowe, a bardziej emocjonalne.

[ENG] We no longer look at styling, interior and details as separate elements.

We look at a character built from light, contrast and tension.

And in this session, tension was the key.

Between the body and the set.
Between revealing and control.
Between sensuality and coldness.
Between closeness and distance.

That is what makes an image stay in your mind longer.

[PL] Nie oglądamy już stylizacji, wnętrza i detali jako osobnych elementów.

Oglądamy postać zbudowaną ze światła, kontrastu i napięcia.

A w tej sesji napięcie było kluczowe.

Między ciałem a scenografią.
Między odsłonięciem a kontrolą.
Między zmysłowością a chłodem.
Między bliskością a dystansem.

To właśnie te napięcia sprawiają, że obraz zostaje w głowie dłużej.

An interior that is more than a background

I love it when a location is not accidental.

Here, the interior was not a neutral space where we simply placed the model. It had its own personality. Old clocks, paintings, dark furniture, a leather chair, wooden floor, vertical light sources, half-darkness and objects that look as if someone had left them there a long time ago.

All of this builds atmosphere.

Wnętrze, które nie jest tylko tłem

Uwielbiam, kiedy miejsce nie jest przypadkowe.

Tutaj wnętrze nie było neutralną przestrzenią, w której po prostu ustawiliśmy modelkę. Ono miało swoją osobowość. Stare zegary, obrazy, ciemne meble, skórzany fotel, drewniana podłoga, pionowe źródła światła, półmrok i przedmioty, które wyglądają, jakby ktoś zostawił je tam dawno temu.

[ENG] We were not shooting in an empty studio, where all attention goes only to the body and the light.

We were photographing in a space that feels like a set for a story we do not fully know.

And that matters to me.

Because a good session does not always have to explain everything.

Sometimes it should leave something unsaid.

[PL] Nie fotografowaliśmy w pustym studio, gdzie cała uwaga idzie tylko na ciało i światło.

Fotografowaliśmy w przestrzeni, która wygląda jak scenografia do historii, której nie znamy do końca.

I to jest dla mnie bardzo ważne.

Bo dobra sesja nie zawsze musi wszystko wyjaśniać.

Czasem powinna zostawić niedopowiedzenie.

[ENG] Who is this character?
What is she doing in this interior?
Is she posing, or has she just stepped onto a stage?
Is she being watched, or is she the one watching?
Is this an intimate moment, or a performance?

We do not need to know the answers.

It is enough that the images ask the questions.

A portrait that does not want to explain itself

I like sessions like this because they remind me that a portrait does not always have to show a person exactly as they are in everyday life.

Sometimes a portrait shows a possibility.

A version.
A persona.
A fantasy.
A shadow.
A role you can step into for a moment in order to discover something that usually stays hidden.

Portret, który nie chce się tłumaczyć

Lubię takie sesje, bo przypominają mi, że portret nie zawsze musi pokazywać człowieka takim, jakim jest na co dzień.

Czasem portret pokazuje możliwość.

Wersję.
Personę.
Fantazję.
Cień.
Rolę, w którą można wejść na chwilę, żeby odkryć coś, co na co dzień pozostaje schowane.

[ENG] And there is nothing artificial about that.

Because photography does not always have to be a document of everyday life. It can be a space where a person meets their own idea of themselves. Something braver. More theatrical. Less polite.

In this session, what interested me most was that transition.

From person to character.

From posing to presence.

From body to story.

[PL] I nie ma w tym nic sztucznego.

Bo fotografia nie zawsze musi być dokumentem codzienności. Może być przestrzenią, w której człowiek spotyka się z własnym wyobrażeniem o sobie. Z czymś odważniejszym. Bardziej scenicznym. Mniej grzecznym.

W tej sesji najbardziej interesowało mnie właśnie to przejście.

Od osoby do postaci.

Od pozowania do obecności.

Od ciała do opowieści.

[ENG] Because when the model truly enters the atmosphere of the session, the images stop being just a record of appearance.

They begin to have temperature.
They begin to have a voice.
They begin to look back.

And that is where the kind of photography I search for most often begins.

Not only correct.
Not only aesthetic.
Not only “pretty”.

But photography with character.

[PL] Bo kiedy modelka zaczyna naprawdę wchodzić w klimat, zdjęcia przestają być tylko zapisem wyglądu.

Zaczynają mieć temperaturę.
Zaczynają mieć głos.
Zaczynają patrzeć z powrotem.

I wtedy dzieje się fotografia, której szukam najczęściej.

Not every story has to be told in a whisper

Some sessions are quiet, delicate and full of softness.

And I love them.

But there are also sessions that need a different language. Darker. More decisive. More theatrical. A language that does not smooth everything into safe aesthetics.

This session was exactly that.

Not romantic.
Not pastel.
Not polite.

Nie każda historia musi być opowiedziana szeptem

Są sesje, które są ciche, delikatne i pełne miękkości.

I bardzo je lubię.

Ale są też takie, które potrzebują innego języka. Ciemniejszego. Bardziej zdecydowanego. Bardziej teatralnego. Takiego, który nie wygładza wszystkiego do poziomu bezpiecznej estetyki.

Ta sesja była właśnie taka.

Nie romantyczna.
Nie pastelowa.

[ENG] It was built on contrast, shadow, gaze, texture, skin, blackness and tension.

And maybe that is why I remember its energy so clearly.

Because it was not about creating an image of femininity that would be easy to accept. It was about creating an image of femininity that does not have to explain itself to anyone.

Femininity that can be strong.
Sensual.
Dark.
Ambiguous.
Conscious.
Unruly.

[PL] Była zbudowana na kontraście, cieniu, spojrzeniu, fakturze, skórze, czerni i napięciu.

I chyba właśnie dlatego tak dobrze pamiętam jej energię.

Bo nie chodziło w niej o to, żeby stworzyć obraz kobiecości, który będzie łatwy do przyjęcia. Chodziło o to, żeby stworzyć obraz kobiecości, która nie musi się nikomu tłumaczyć.

Kobiecości, która może być mocna.
Zmysłowa.
Mroczna.
Nieoczywista.
Świadoma.
Niepokorna.

[ENG] Because not every kind of femininity wants to be polite.

Not every story wants to be told in a whisper.

Sometimes the best portrait begins only when we stop asking: “is this appropriate?” - and start asking:

is this true for this character?

[PL] Bo nie każda kobiecość chce być grzeczna.

Nie każda chce być opowiedziana szeptem.

Czasem najlepszy portret powstaje dopiero wtedy, kiedy przestajemy pytać: „czy to wypada?” - i zaczynamy pytać:

In nude photography, the body can easily become the only subject.

It attracts attention. It dominates interpretation. It pushes the viewer toward the simplest possible reading of the image.

But there are moments when nudity can work differently.

Not as provocation.
Not as an effect.
Not as a promise of literalness.

W fotografii aktu ciało bardzo łatwo staje się jedynym tematem.

Przyciąga wzrok. Dominuje interpretację. Prowadzi odbiorcę do najprostszego możliwego odczytania obrazu.

Ale są sytuacje, w których nagość może działać inaczej.

In this session, I was interested in something more ambiguous: a suspension between intimacy and nature.

An old bathtub placed under apple trees. Mist spreading between the trunks. Wet grass. Heavy branches. Green fruit hanging above the body.

A scene that does not feel fully real, but does not become fantasy either.

It stays somewhere in between.

W tej sesji interesowało mnie coś bardziej niejednoznacznego: zawieszenie między intymnością a naturą.

Stara wanna ustawiona pod jabłoniami. Mgła rozlewająca się między pniami. Mokra trawa. Ciężkie gałęzie. Zielone owoce wiszące nad ciałem.

Scena, która nie wydaje się do końca realna, ale nie staje się też fantazją.

Zostaje gdzieś pomiędzy.

When nudity stops being literal / Kiedy nagość przestaje być dosłowna

[ENG]
The most difficult thing in nude photography is not showing the body.

The most difficult thing is making sure the body is not reduced only to its literal meaning.

Nudity is a powerful sign. It immediately activates associations. It pulls attention faster than gesture, light, composition or color.

If the photographer does not control that weight, the image can quickly become one-dimensional.

[PL]
W fotografii aktu najtrudniejsze nie jest pokazanie ciała.

Najtrudniejsze jest sprawić, żeby ciało nie zostało zamknięte wyłącznie w swojej dosłowności.

Nagość jest mocnym znakiem. Natychmiast uruchamia skojarzenia. Przyciąga uwagę szybciej niż gest, światło, kompozycja czy kolor.

Jeśli fotograf nie zapanuje nad tym ciężarem, zdjęcie bardzo łatwo może stać się jednowymiarowe.

In this session, I wanted something different.

I wanted nudity to stop being the message itself. I wanted it to enter into a relationship with the place: with the garden, the mist, the bathtub, the branches creating a natural ceiling above the model, and the apples hanging like symbols of something primal, fragile and slightly tempting.

W tej sesji zależało mi na czymś innym.

Chciałem, żeby nagość przestała być komunikatem samym w sobie. Żeby weszła w relację z miejscem: z ogrodem, z mgłą, z wanną, z gałęziami tworzącymi nad modelką naturalne sklepienie i z jabłkami wiszącymi jak symbole czegoś pierwotnego, kruchego i lekko kuszącego.

The body was not meant to be separated from the space.

It was meant to be transformed by it.

Sometimes it became a line written into the shape of the bathtub. Sometimes it became a warm contrast against dark, heavy branches. Sometimes it was the softest point inside the cold green world of the garden.

Ciało nie miało być wyrwane z przestrzeni.

Miało zostać przez nią przepisane.

Raz stawało się linią wpisaną w kształt wanny. Innym razem ciepłym kontrastem wobec ciemnych, ciężkich gałęzi. Czasem było najdelikatniejszym punktem w chłodnym, zielonym świecie ogrodu.

And then nudity begins to work differently.

It does not shout.
It does not dominate.
It does not stop the image at the surface of the skin.

It leads the viewer further.

I wtedy nagość zaczyna działać inaczej.

Nie krzyczy.
Nie dominuje.
Nie zatrzymuje obrazu na powierzchni skóry.

Prowadzi widza dalej.

Between intimacy and nature / Między intymnością a naturą

The strongest tension in this session was born between what is private and what is natural.

A bathtub is an intimate object.

It belongs to a closed room, to warm water, to a daily ritual, to a place where the body is usually protected from the outside world.

[PL]
Najmocniejsze napięcie tej sesji rodziło się pomiędzy tym, co prywatne, a tym, co naturalne.

Wanna jest przedmiotem intymnym.

Należy do zamkniętego pomieszczenia, do ciepłej wody, do codziennego rytuału, do miejsca, w którym ciało jest zwykle chronione przed światem zewnętrznym.

But here, the bathtub stands under the trees.

On grass. Among leaves. In an orchard. Beneath heavy branches.

It stands in a place that cannot be fully controlled. There is moisture, soil, cold air, mist, changing light, insects, randomness.

Ale tutaj wanna stoi pod drzewami.

Na trawie. Wśród liści. W sadzie. Pod ciężkimi gałęziami.

Stoi w miejscu, którego nie da się w pełni kontrolować. Jest wilgoć, ziemia, chłodne powietrze, mgła, zmienne światło, owady, przypadkowość.

Nature is not a decorative background here.

It becomes an active part of the image.

And this is why the contrast works.

Something private has been moved outside. Something domestic has been exposed to the organic world. Something usually hidden behind walls now exists under branches, among leaves and fog.

Natura nie jest tutaj dekoracyjnym tłem.

Staje się aktywną częścią obrazu.

I właśnie dlatego ten kontrast działa.

This shift changes the way we look at the body.

We are not simply looking at a nude photograph taken outdoors.

We are looking at a meeting of two different orders: the domestic and the wild, the controlled and the accidental, the soft and the rough, the warm and the cold.

The old bathtub was more than a prop.

A prop can decorate a scene. It can add style. It can create atmosphere.

But here, the bathtub did something more important.

It changed the logic of the photographs.

Everything had its natural disorder, irregularity and softness.

Beautiful because of its imperfections.

Because of it, the image does not become a simple story about a woman’s body in nature.

There is a disruption. A question. A visual crack.

Why is she there?
Is this a real scene or an image from memory?
Is the garden a place of escape or a space of ritual?
Does the bathtub protect the body or expose it?

Dzięki niej obraz nie staje się prostą opowieścią o kobiecym ciele w naturze.

This is one of the most important things in visual storytelling: one carefully chosen object can shift the meaning of an entire session.

Without the bathtub, these photographs could simply be a nude series in an orchard.

With the bathtub, they begin to feel like a dream that refuses to explain itself.

To jedna z najważniejszych rzeczy w budowaniu fotograficznej opowieści: jeden świadomie dobrany przedmiot potrafi przesunąć znaczenie całej sesji.

Mist as a photographic tool / Mgła jako narzędzie fotograficzne

Mist was one of the most important elements of this series.

Not only because it created atmosphere. Also because it changed the way space worked in the photograph.

Mist acts like a natural diffuser.

It softens contrast, smooths tonal transitions, separates planes and makes the background less competitive.

Mgła była jednym z najważniejszych elementów tej serii.

Nie tylko dlatego, że budowała atmosferę. Również dlatego, że zmieniała sposób działania przestrzeni na zdjęciu.

Mgła pracuje jak naturalny dyfuzor.

Zmiękcza kontrast, wygładza przejścia tonalne, oddziela plany i sprawia, że tło mniej konkuruje z głównym motywem.

Trees in the distance lose detail.

Green becomes less literal.

The whole space becomes layered.

This gives a lot of possibilities, but it also requires control.

Too much mist can flatten the image. It can remove structure. It can make skin look gray and lifeless.

Zieleń staje się mniej dosłowna.

Cała przestrzeń robi się bardziej warstwowa.

To daje ogromne możliwości, ale wymaga też kontroli.

That is why balance was crucial.

On one hand, I wanted to keep the cold, wet feeling of the garden.

On the other, the skin had to remain warm, natural and alive.

This contrast between the cool background and the warm body builds a large part of the visual tension in these frames.

Gesture instead of literalness / Gest zamiast dosłowności

In nude photography, the most important decision is not always how much is shown.

Very often, the real question is: what can be suggested instead of explained?

Sometimes a twist of the body is stronger than a frontal pose.
Sometimes a hand covering part of the silhouette creates more tension than full exposure.
Sometimes looking away from the camera opens more meanings than direct eye contact.
Sometimes the curve of the neck says more than the most spectacular pose.

W fotografii aktu najważniejszą decyzją nie zawsze jest to, ile pokazujemy.

Bardzo często prawdziwe pytanie brzmi: co można zasugerować zamiast wyjaśnić?

Czasem skręt ciała jest mocniejszy niż frontalna poza.

Because nude photography does not need excess.

It needs precision.

Every gesture can change the emotional temperature of the image. It can move the photograph toward tenderness, sensuality, unease, melancholy or strength.

Color in this session is based on the collision of two worlds.

On one side, there is the cool, greenish, wet space of the garden.

On the other, the warm and natural tone of the skin.

This contrast is very photographic, but also very demanding in post-production.

Kolorystycznie ta sesja opiera się na zderzeniu dwóch światów.

Z jednej strony mamy chłodną, zielonkawą, wilgotną przestrzeń ogrodu.

Z drugiej - ciepły, naturalny ton skóry.

Green can be difficult.

Especially outdoors, when light reflects from grass, leaves and branches.

It is very easy to get unpleasant color casts on the skin. The body can start to look too olive, too gray or simply dirty.

Szczególnie w plenerze, kiedy światło odbija się od trawy, liści i gałęzi.

That is why, in editing, the most important task was to separate the mood of the background from the color of the skin.

The garden could move toward coolness. The mist could have a slightly milky, greenish character. The shadows could become deeper and wetter.

But the skin had to keep its softness, warmth and natural tonality.

This contrast makes the body stand out without looking cut out from the environment.

It belongs to the image, but remains its warmest point.

Framing through branches / Kadrowanie przez gałęzie

One of the elements I like most in this series is the use of branches as a natural frame.

The trees are not just a background.

They enter the composition.

Sometimes they press down on the frame from above. Sometimes they create a ceiling. Sometimes they lead the eye toward the body. Sometimes they cover part of the space, making the photograph less obvious and more intimate.

Jednym z elementów, które najbardziej lubię w tej serii, jest wykorzystanie gałęzi jako naturalnej ramy.

Drzewa nie są tu tylko tłem.

One wchodzą w kompozycję.

This is an important lesson in photographing outdoors: a location should not be just a place where we put the model.

The location should work.

The lines of branches, the weight of the tree crown, bright openings between leaves, patches of mist, dark trunks and the white bathtub - all of these elements can build composition.

They separate the world outside the photograph and close the scene inside its own slightly unreal order.

When the body becomes part of a larger image / Kiedy ciało staje się częścią większego obrazu

The most interesting thing in nude photography is not the simple act of showing the body.

It begins when the body enters a relationship with space, light, gesture and meaning.

In this session, nudity was only one of the elements.

Just as important were the mist, the old trees, the bathtub, the coolness of green, the weight of branches, the wet grass, the apples, the white enamel and the way the body responded to all of them.

Najciekawsze w fotografowaniu aktu nie jest samo pokazanie ciała.

Zaczyna się wtedy, kiedy ciało wchodzi w relację z przestrzenią, światłem, gestem i znaczeniem.

It is a story about a border.

Between inside and outside.
Between private and natural.
Between control and accident.
Between the body as a subject and the body as part of a larger image.

They demand it.

Dark wood, old doors, tools hanging on the walls, stairs that look as if they remember more stories than most people ever will.

This is not a neutral space.

This place has character.

[PL] Są miejsca, które nie proszą się o zdjęcia.

One je wymuszają.

Ciemne drewno, stare drzwi, narzędzia na ścianach, schody, które wyglądają, jakby pamiętały więcej historii niż niejeden człowiek.

[ENG] And that is exactly why I wanted to place something completely different inside it - delicate skin, red hair, black lace, and sensuality that does not scream.

It enters into a quiet dialogue with everything around it.

[PL] Właśnie dlatego chciałem zestawić je z czymś zupełnie innym - z delikatnością skóry, rudymi włosami, czarną koronką i sensualnością, która nie krzyczy.

Ona raczej wchodzi w cichy dialog z tym, co ją otacza.

[ENG] In sensual photography, it is very easy to fall into a familiar pattern.

A bright apartment. White sheets. Soft light. A safe atmosphere.

Here, I wanted to go in the opposite direction.

[PL] W fotografii sensualnej bardzo łatwo wejść w schemat.

Jasny apartament. Biała pościel. Miękkie światło. Bezpieczny klimat.

Tutaj chciałem pójść w drugą stronę.

[ENG] Delicacy met weight.

Lace met wood.

Skin met metal.

Red hair met a dark interior.

And this contrast began to create tension.

[PL] Delikatność spotkała się z ciężarem.

Koronka z drewnem.

Skóra z metalem.

I właśnie ten kontrast zaczął budować napięcie.

It should play its part.

It should add to the story, provoke, build atmosphere, and sometimes even feel slightly overwhelming.

In this session, the space became the second character.

[PL] Dobre miejsce nie powinno być tylko tłem.

Powinno grać.

Dopowiadać historię, prowokować, budować atmosferę, czasem nawet lekko przytłaczać.

W tej sesji przestrzeń była drugim bohaterem.

[ENG] The old wood gave the images weight.

The dark doors closed the frame.

The stairs guided the eye and gave the body something to lean on.

Every element of this location worked for the emotion of the photograph.

[PL] Stare drewno nadawało ciężar.

Ciemne drzwi zamykały kadr.

Schody prowadziły oko i dawały ciału punkt oparcia.

Każdy element tej lokalizacji pracował na emocję zdjęcia.

[ENG] For me, sensuality is not about showing as much as possible.

It is about leaving tension.

In the gaze. In the gesture of a hand. In the tilt of the head. In the silence between one pose and the next.

Between posing and a natural gesture.

[ENG] In a space like this, the body is not separated from the location.

Hands rest against the door frame. The back meets the wood. The silhouette follows the line of the stairs.

This is no longer just posing.

It is placing a human being inside a scene.

[PL] W takiej przestrzeni ciało nie jest oderwane od miejsca.

Ręce opierają się o framugę. Plecy spotykają się z drewnem. Sylwetka wpisuje się w linię schodów.

To już nie jest tylko pozowanie.

To układanie człowieka w scenografii.

[ENG] It was never about simply taking photographs in lingerie.

It was about creating a world where delicacy collides with weight.

A world where sensuality is not obvious.

It is tension.

[PL] Nie chodziło o to, żeby zrobić zdjęcia w bieliźnie.

Chodziło o stworzenie świata, w którym delikatność zderza się z ciężarem.

Świata, w którym sensualność nie jest oczywista.

Jest napięciem.

[ENG] Most mistakes in portrait photography begin with one obsession - to make everything clearly visible.

The face.
The eyes.
The skin.
The outfit.
The background.
The detail.
The texture.

As if the photograph had to pass a test in readability.

But then you look at an image like that and technically, everything is correct.

And still, nothing really happens.

[PL] Większość błędów w portrecie zaczyna się od jednej obsesji - żeby wszystko było dobrze widoczne.

Twarz.
Oczy.
Skóra.
Ubranie.
Tło.
Detal
Faktura.

Jakby zdjęcie miało zdać egzamin z czytelności.

A potem patrzysz na takie zdjęcie i technicznie wszystko się zgadza.

Tylko nic się nie dzieje.

[ENG] In this session, I did not want everything to be visible.

I wanted part of the image to resist.

The location was simple: a caravan, a forest, hard sunlight, dark windows, reflections in the glass.

Nothing spectacular at first glance.

But that was exactly what made it interesting.

[PL] W tej sesji nie chciałem, żeby wszystko było widoczne.

Chciałem, żeby część obrazu nie była dosłowna.

Lokalizacja była prosta: przyczepa campingowa, las, ostre słońce, ciemne okna, odbicia w szybie.

Na pierwszy rzut oka nic spektakularnego.

I właśnie dlatego zrobiło się ciekawie.

[ENG] Shadow is not a problem that needs to be fixed.

It is a tool of selection.

It decides where the viewer looks first.
What becomes important.
What can remain unfinished.

In these images, shadow does not only make the scene darker.

It organizes the frame.

[PL] Cień nie jest problemem, który trzeba naprawić.

Jest narzędziem selekcji.

To on decyduje, gdzie widz patrzy najpierw.
Co staje się ważne.
Co może pozostać niedopowiedziane.

Na tych zdjęciach cień nie tylko przyciemnia scenę.

On porządkuje kadr.

[ENG] The hard sunlight was not an accident.

It was the starting point.

I did not want to turn this session into something soft, safe and evenly lit.

I wanted the light to be a little unforgiving.

To cut the image.
To hide part of the face.
To leave parts of the body in darkness.
To make the white lace stand out against the heavy shadows.

[PL] Ostre słońce nie było przypadkiem.

Było punktem wyjścia.

Nie chciałem zamieniać tej sesji w coś miękkiego, bezpiecznego i równo doświetlonego.

Chciałem, żeby światło było trochę bezlitosne.

Żeby cięło obraz.
Żeby chowało część twarzy.
Żeby zostawiało fragmenty ciała w ciemności.
Żeby biała koronka odcinała się od ciężkich cieni.

[ENG] Hard light is uncomfortable.

It shows too much where you do not need it.
And too little where you would like to stay in control.

That is why many photographers immediately run away from it.

They look for open shade.
They wait for golden hour.
They soften everything.

And of course, there is nothing wrong with that.

But sometimes the more interesting photograph begins when you stop trying to make the light polite.

[PL] Ostre światło jest niewygodne.

Pokazuje za dużo tam, gdzie nie trzeba.
I za mało tam, gdzie fotograf chciałby mieć kontrolę.

Dlatego wiele osób od razu przed nim ucieka.

Szukają otwartego cienia.
Czekają na złotą godzinę.
Zmiękczają wszystko.

I oczywiście nie ma w tym nic złego.

Ale czasem ciekawsze zdjęcie zaczyna się wtedy, kiedy przestajesz zmuszać światło do bycia grzecznym.

[ENG] During this session, small movements changed everything.

A few centimeters to the left and the face entered the light.
A few centimeters back and the eye disappeared into shadow.
The arm could become a strong line or almost vanish.
The reflection in the window could repeat the pose or disturb it.

These are small decisions.

But they are exactly what creates tension.

[PL] Podczas tej sesji małe przesunięcia zmieniały wszystko.

Kilkanaście centymetrów w lewo i twarz wchodziła w światło.
Kilkanaście centymetrów w tył i oko znikało w cieniu.
Ramię mogło stać się mocną linią albo prawie zniknąć.
Odbicie w szybie mogło powtórzyć pozę albo ją zaburzyć.

To są drobne decyzje.

Ale właśnie one tworzą napięcie.

[ENG] A shadow can do something that is very hard to fake later in editing.

It can simplify the image before you even touch Lightroom.

You do not have to fight the background if it already falls into darkness.
You do not have to remove distractions if the light never gave them importance.
You do not have to create mood with color grading if contrast already carries the weight.

Editing still matters.

But a good decision on set gives editing a direction.

[PL] Cień potrafi zrobić coś, co bardzo trudno dobrze podrobić później w edycji.

Potrafi uprościć obraz, zanim jeszcze otworzysz Lightrooma.

Nie musisz walczyć z tłem, jeśli ono od początku wpada w ciemność.
Nie musisz usuwać rozpraszaczy, jeśli światło nigdy nie nadało im znaczenia.
Nie musisz budować nastroju samym kolorem, jeśli kontrast już niesie ciężar zdjęcia.

Edycja nadal ma znaczenie.

Ale dobra decyzja na planie daje edycji kierunek.

[ENG] The photograph that shows everything often ends very quickly.

You look.
You understand.
You move on.

Shadow slows that process down.

Not because it makes the image mysterious in a cheap way.

But because it blocks the immediate answer.

And sometimes the reflection in the glass becomes almost like a second version of the same person.

The photograph stops being just a record of a pose.

It becomes a system of tensions.

Between what is shown and what is hidden.
Between control and accident.
Between the model and her reflection.
Between the body and the place.

[PL] Nie widzisz całej twarzy.

Nie dostajesz pełnej informacji o przestrzeni.

Nie każdy fragment ciała jest podany wprost.

A czasem odbicie w szybie staje się prawie drugą wersją tej samej osoby.

Zdjęcie przestaje być tylko zapisem pozy.

Staje się układem napięć.

Między tym, co pokazane, a tym, co ukryte.
Między kontrolą a przypadkiem.
Między modelką a jej odbiciem.
Między ciałem a miejscem.

[ENG] If I had to reduce this session to one practical lesson, it would be this:

Do not only ask if the light is beautiful.

Ask what the light is supposed to do.

Should it soften?
Separate?
Hide?
Reveal texture?
Build tension?
Cut the frame into clear shapes?
Push the viewer’s eye in one direction?

[ENG] In this series, the goal was not to make everything evenly lit.

The goal was to make the image resist a little.

To not give the viewer everything at once.

To let the light guide the eye, but let the shadow stop it for longer.

A caravan.
A forest.
A few sharp cuts of sunlight.
A body partly visible, partly hidden.
A reflection that does not simply repeat the scene, but slightly shifts it.

That was enough.

[PL] W tej serii celem nie było to, żeby wszystko było równo doświetlone.

Celem było to, żeby obraz stawiał się mniej dosłowny.

[ENG] You do not need a studio. You need light, a place, and trust.

Sometimes the best studio has no walls.

No white cyclorama. No professional lamps. No perfectly clean background. No air conditioning. No assistant holding a reflector. No coffee waiting next to the monitor.

Sometimes the best studio is a narrow path between tall corn, the sun dropping low behind the leaves, and a few minutes of light that looks as if someone set the whole frame on fire.

[PL] Nie potrzebujesz studia. Potrzebujesz światła, miejsca i zaufania.

Czasem najlepsze studio nie ma ścian.

Nie ma białej cykloramy. Nie ma profesjonalnych lamp. Nie ma idealnie równego tła. Nie ma klimatyzacji. Nie ma asystenta z blendą. Nie ma kawy stojącej obok monitora.

Czasem najlepsze studio to wąska ścieżka między wysoką kukurydzą, słońce schodzące nisko za liśćmi i kilka minut światła, które wygląda tak, jakby ktoś podpalił cały kadr.

[ENG] And this is where photography begins.

Not when everything is perfectly controlled.
But when you are able to see potential in a place that, for most people, is just a field.

[PL] I właśnie tam zaczyna się fotografia.

[ENG] An ordinary field, an extraordinary scene.

At first glance, there was nothing spectacular here.

Corn. Green leaves. Soil underfoot. Light falling chaotically through the plants.

But photography begins at the exact moment when you stop looking at a location literally.

You stop seeing corn.
You start seeing natural frames.
Leading lines.
Curtains you can shoot through.
Shadows that hide.
Light that reveals.

[PL] Zwykłe pole, niezwykła scena.

Na pierwszy rzut oka nie było tu nic spektakularnego.

Kukurydza. Zielone liście. Ziemia pod stopami. Światło wpadające chaotycznie między rośliny.

Ale fotografia zaczyna się dokładnie w tym momencie, w którym przestajesz patrzeć na miejsce dosłownie.

Przestajesz widzieć kukurydzę.
Zaczynasz widzieć naturalne ramy.

[ENG] This is one of the most important lessons in photography: a place does not have to be spectacular by itself.

What matters is how you see it.

Because if you know how to look, an ordinary field can become a set. A maze. An intimate space. A natural studio that exists, for a short moment, only for the photographer, the model, and the light.

[PL] To jedna z najważniejszych lekcji w fotografii: miejsce samo w sobie nie musi być spektakularne.

Najważniejsze jest to, jak je zobaczysz.

[ENG] Light is more important than location.

In this session, the sun played the main role.

Not as a pretty detail in the background, but as the real protagonist of the images. Low, warm, orange light was cutting through the leaves and building the whole atmosphere.

It drew the outline of the hair.
It separated the body from the dark green background.
It gave the skin softness, warmth, and a cinematic kind of tension.

[PL] Światło jest ważniejsze niż lokalizacja.

W tej sesji główną rolę zagrało słońce.

Nie jako ładny dodatek w tle, ale jako prawdziwy bohater zdjęć. Niskie, ciepłe, pomarańczowe światło przecinało liście i budowało cały nastrój.

Rysowało kontur włosów.
Odcinało sylwetkę od ciemnej zieleni.
Dawało skórze miękkość, ciepło i filmowe napięcie.

[ENG] In light like this, the goal is not to illuminate everything perfectly.

Quite the opposite.

The strength of these photographs comes from contrast.

Light and shadow.
What is revealed and what remains hidden.
Soft skin and sharp leaves.
The warmth of sunset and the cool depth of green.

This tension is what creates emotion.

[PL] W takim świetle nie chodzi o to, żeby wszystko było idealnie doświetlone.

Wręcz przeciwnie.

Siła tych zdjęć bierze się z kontrastu.

Światło i cień.
To, co odsłonięte, i to, co zostaje ukryte.
Miękkość skóry i ostrość liści.
Ciepło zachodu i chłodna głębia zieleni.

To właśnie z tego napięcia rodzi się emocja.

[ENG] That is why I often think the first question should not be: “Where are we going to shoot?”

A better question is:

Where will the light be interesting?

Because an ordinary location in beautiful light can become magical. And even the most beautiful location without light often remains just a pretty place.

[PL] Dlatego często myślę, że pierwsze pytanie nie powinno brzmieć: „Gdzie zrobimy sesję?”.

Lepsze pytanie brzmi:

Gdzie będzie ciekawe światło?

[ENG] Sensuality in photography does not begin with nudity.

It is very easy to make sensual photography too literal.

To show too much. Too quickly. Without tension. Without mystery. Without a story.

But sensuality rarely comes from the body alone.

It comes from atmosphere.

[PL] Zmysłowość w fotografii nie zaczyna się od nagości.

W fotografii sensualnej bardzo łatwo pójść w dosłowność.

Pokazać za dużo. Za szybko. Bez napięcia. Bez tajemnicy. Bez historii.

Ale zmysłowość rzadko wynika z samego ciała.

Ona rodzi się z atmosfery.

[ENG] From a look.
From the position of a hand.
From a breath held for a second before the shutter clicks.
From a leaf covering part of the face.
From a shadow that hides more than it shows.

In this session, the body is part of the image, but it is not the only subject.

The plants matter.
The light matters.
The colour matters.
The movement matters.
The space matters.

[PL] Ze spojrzenia.
Z ułożenia dłoni.
Z oddechu zatrzymanego na sekundę przed naciśnięciem spustu migawki.
Z liścia, który zasłania fragment twarzy.
Z cienia, który ukrywa więcej, niż pokazuje.

[ENG] The leaves became more than a background.

They became a border between the viewer and the model. A soft veil. A natural frame. A way of creating distance and intimacy at the same time.

Because the most interesting sensual photographs do not show everything.

They leave space for imagination.

[ENG] Trust is invisible, but you can see it in the photographs.

In sessions like this, technique matters. Light matters. Composition matters.

But the most important thing is something you cannot see directly in the frame.

Trust.

The person in front of the camera has to feel safe. Not judged. Not rushed. Not pushed into something that feels uncomfortable.

[PL] Zaufanie jest niewidzialne, ale widać je na zdjęciach.

Przy takich sesjach technika ma znaczenie. Światło ma znaczenie. Kompozycja ma znaczenie.

Ale najważniejsze jest coś, czego nie widać bezpośrednio w kadrze.

Turn your chin toward the light.
Stay in that gesture.
Close your eyes.
Breathe.
Hold this moment.

Sometimes the strongest photograph appears not when the model is posing, but when she stops posing for a second.

When she enters the emotion.
When she forgets about the camera.
When she trusts the process.

[PL] Przesuń delikatnie dłoń.
Obróć brodę w stronę światła.

[ENG] And then photography stops being about arranging a body.

It becomes a meeting.

[PL] I wtedy fotografia przestaje być ustawianiem ciała.

[ENG] Leaves as a natural lens.

One of the most beautiful parts of this session was shooting through the plants.

Leaves were everywhere - in front of the lens, behind the model, next to the face, close to the hands, on the edge of focus.

They created depth.

Instead of a clean, simple portrait, the image became layered. The foreground was soft and blurred. The middle ground led the eye toward the model. The background disappeared into deep green and warm reflections of light.

[PL] Liście jako naturalny obiektyw.

Jednym z najpiękniejszych elementów tej sesji było fotografowanie przez rośliny.

Liście były wszędzie - przed obiektywem, za modelką, przy twarzy, obok dłoni, na granicy ostrości.

Tworzyły głębię.

Zamiast czystego, prostego portretu powstawał obraz zbudowany z warstw. Pierwszy plan był miękki i rozmyty. Drugi prowadził wzrok do modelki. Tło znikało w głębokiej zieleni i ciepłych refleksach światła.

[ENG] Shooting this way requires patience.

A leaf moves a few centimetres and suddenly covers the eye. The light disappears. The focus catches the wrong plane. The frame becomes too heavy.

But when everything meets at the same time - face, gesture, light, leaf, shadow - the photograph starts to breathe.

It no longer looks like someone placed a model in nature.

It looks like she belongs to that space.

[PL] Taki sposób fotografowania wymaga cierpliwości.

Liść przesunie się o kilka centymetrów i nagle zasłoni oko. Światło zniknie. Ostrość złapie nie tę płaszczyznę. Kadr stanie się zbyt ciężki.

Ale kiedy wszystko spotka się w jednym momencie - twarz, gest, światło, liść, cień - fotografia zaczyna oddychać.

Nie wygląda już tak, jakby ktoś postawił modelkę w naturze.

Wygląda tak, jakby ona była częścią tej przestrzeni.

[ENG] Colour that tells emotion.

The colour grading was also part of the story.

I did not want to lose the mood of the sunset. The skin had to stay warm, soft, and natural. The green could not become too bright or too clean. The shadows needed depth, but not emptiness. The orange reflections had to guide the eye without taking over the whole image.

This is the moment when editing stops being just correction.

It becomes interpretation.

[PL] Kolor, który opowiada emocje.

Kolor również był częścią tej opowieści.

Nie chciałem zgubić nastroju zachodu słońca. Skóra miała pozostać ciepła, miękka i naturalna. Zieleń nie mogła stać się zbyt jaskrawa ani zbyt czysta. Cienie miały mieć głębię, ale nie mogły być puste. Pomarańczowe refleksy miały prowadzić wzrok, ale nie przejąć całego obrazu.

[ENG] These photographs could have been edited in a cleaner, brighter, more neutral way.

But then the tension would disappear.

And tension was the heart of this session.

Deep green. Warm skin. Golden light. Dark shadows. A body partly revealed, partly hidden.

This is what creates atmosphere.

And atmosphere is what stays with the viewer the longest.

[PL] Te zdjęcia można było obrobić czyściej, jaśniej, bardziej neutralnie.

Ale wtedy zniknęłoby napięcie.

A napięcie było sercem tej sesji.

Głęboka zieleń. Ciepła skóra. Złote światło. Ciemne cienie. Ciało częściowo odsłonięte, częściowo ukryte.

To właśnie buduje klimat.

A klimat jest tym, co zostaje z odbiorcą najdłużej.

[ENG] It’s not about the camera. It’s about seeing.

It is easy to believe that exceptional photographs require exceptional conditions.

Better gear.
A better location.
A bigger team.
A more impressive concept.
A more exotic place.

And then, sometimes, all you need is a cornfield and sunset.

[PL] Nie chodzi o aparat. Chodzi o patrzenie.

Łatwo uwierzyć, że wyjątkowe zdjęcia wymagają wyjątkowych warunków.

Lepszego sprzętu.
Lepszej lokalizacji.
Większej ekipy.
Bardziej imponującego pomysłu.
Bardziej egzotycznego miejsca.

A potem okazuje się, że czasem wystarczy pole kukurydzy i zachód słońca.

[ENG] Of course, gear helps. Experience helps. A good lens helps.

But none of these things can replace the ability to see.

Because photography begins before the camera.

It begins when you notice that one ray of light can build the whole frame. That a leaf can become a composition tool. That shadow can add mystery. That an ordinary place can turn into something magical for just a few minutes.

[PL] Oczywiście, sprzęt pomaga. Doświadczenie pomaga. Dobre szkło pomaga.

Ale żadna z tych rzeczy nie zastąpi umiejętności patrzenia.

Bo fotografia zaczyna się wcześniej niż w aparacie.

Zaczyna się wtedy, kiedy zauważasz, że jeden promień światła może zbudować cały kadr. Że liść może stać się narzędziem kompozycji. Że cień może dodać tajemnicy. Że zwykłe miejsce może na kilka minut zmienić się w coś magicznego.

[ENG] You do not need a studio to create images with atmosphere.

You need light.
You need a place you can see differently than everyone else.
You need trust between the person behind the camera and the person in front of it.

And you need the courage to step into a space that, at first glance, promises nothing extraordinary.

[PL] Nie potrzebujesz studia, żeby stworzyć zdjęcia z klimatem.

Potrzebujesz światła.
Potrzebujesz miejsca, które potrafisz zobaczyć inaczej niż wszyscy.
Potrzebujesz zaufania między osobą za aparatem i osobą przed obiektywem.

[ENG] Because sometimes the best frames are created exactly where no one is looking for them.

At the end of the day.
Between the leaves.
In the silence of a field.
A few minutes before the light disappears.

[PL] Bo czasem najlepsze kadry powstają właśnie tam, gdzie nikt ich nie szuka.

Pod koniec dnia.
Między liśćmi.
W ciszy pola.

[ENG] The easiest thing would be to call it a women’s portrait session.
Or: sensual.
Or, even more simply: photos in lingerie.

Add the lace, the body, the closed eyes, the light on the skin - and assume the subject has been explained.

But labels like that become lazy very quickly.

[PL] Najłatwiej byłoby powiedzieć: sesja kobieca.
Albo: sensual.
Albo jeszcze prościej: zdjęcia w bieliźnie.

Wrzucić tam koronkę, ciało, zamknięte oczy, światło na skórze i uznać, że temat został opisany.

Tylko że takie etykiety bardzo szybko robią się leniwe.

[ENG] Because when a woman’s body appears in a photograph, many people suddenly stop looking at the photograph itself. They stop seeing composition. Direction of light. The relationship between the interior, the colours, the textures, the gesture, the emotion.

They see the body.

[PL] Bo kiedy na zdjęciu pojawia się kobiece ciało, wielu ludzi nagle przestaje analizować fotografię. Nie widzą już kompozycji. Nie widzą kierunku światła. Nie widzą relacji między wnętrzem, kolorem, fakturą, gestem i emocją.

Widzą ciało.

[ENG] And then the automatic reactions begin:

Is this still artistic?
Is it already too bold?
Is it appropriate?
Does it need to be justified somehow?

[PL] A potem zaczyna się automatyczny zestaw reakcji:

Czy to jeszcze artystyczne?
Czy już odważne?
Czy wypada?
Czy trzeba to jakoś usprawiedliwić?

[ENG] That mechanism is far more interesting to me than nudity or lingerie itself.

Maybe the problem is not that there is “too much body” in the image. Maybe the problem is that we look at the body too shallowly.

[PL] I właśnie ten mechanizm jest dla mnie ciekawszy niż sama nagość czy bielizna.

Bo może problem nie polega na tym, że na zdjęciu jest „za dużo ciała”. Może problem polega na tym, że patrzymy na ciało zbyt płytko.

[ENG] This session was never about photographing “a beautiful girl in beautiful light”.

It was about something more precise: the tension between intimacy and control. Between the softness of skin and hard patches of sunlight. Between a retro interior that could easily become kitsch and the way the body and gesture give it meaning.

[PL] Ta sesja nie była próbą zrobienia zdjęć „ładnej dziewczyny w ładnym świetle”.

Chodziło o coś bardziej precyzyjnego: o napięcie między intymnością a kontrolą. Między miękkością skóry a ostrymi plamami światła. Między retro wnętrzem, które mogłoby wyglądać kiczowato, a sposobem, w jaki ciało i gest nadają mu sens.

[ENG] The space matters here.

The curtains, patterns, sunflowers, wallpaper, wood, warm colours, the slightly heavy atmosphere of an old room. This is not a neutral background. It works together with the model. At times it surrounds her, at times it almost overwhelms her, at times it contrasts with her delicacy.

[PL] Ta przestrzeń jest ważna.

Firanki, wzory, słoneczniki, tapeta, drewno, ciepłe kolory, trochę duszna atmosfera starego pokoju. To nie jest neutralne tło. Ono pracuje razem z modelką. Czasami ją otacza, czasami przytłacza, czasami kontrastuje z jej delikatnością.

[ENG] And that collision is where the story begins.

Not in the lingerie.

The lingerie is only one part of the visual language. Just like the colour of her hair. The tattoos. The light on the stomach. The shadows on the face. The hands placed near the neck, in the hair, on the thigh, against the cheek.

[PL] I właśnie w tym zderzeniu zaczyna się historia.

Nie w samej bieliźnie.

Bielizna jest tu tylko elementem formy. Tak jak kolor włosów. Jak tatuaże. Jak światło na brzuchu. Jak cienie na twarzy. Jak dłonie ułożone przy szyi, na włosach, na udzie, przy policzku.

[ENG] In sensual photography, it is very easy to cross the line into an image that is nothing more than a pose. Pretty, correct, but empty.

Here, I wanted the sensuality to be less obvious. I did not want it to come from how much is shown, but from how we look.

Showing the body is easy.

Making an image where the body does not become a prop - that is much harder.

[PL] W fotografii sensualnej bardzo łatwo przekroczyć granicę i zrobić obraz, który jest tylko pozą. Ładną, poprawną, ale pustą.

Tu zależało mi na tym, żeby ta zmysłowość nie była oczywista. Żeby nie wynikała z tego, ile widać, tylko z tego, jak patrzymy.

Bo pokazanie ciała jest banalnie proste.

Trudniejsze jest zrobienie zdjęcia, w którym ciało nie staje się rekwizytem.

[ENG] For me, sensuality begins where literalness ends. In the gesture. In the tension of the neck. In the way the model closes her eyes. In the fact that not everything is directed at the viewer. In the fact that part of the emotion stays outside the frame.

This is not a session trying to convince everyone that it is “delicate”, “feminine” or “subtle”.

[PL] Dla mnie sensualność zaczyna się tam, gdzie kończy się dosłowność. W geście. W napięciu szyi. W sposobie, w jaki modelka zamyka oczy. W tym, że nie wszystko jest skierowane do widza. W tym, że część emocji zostaje poza kadrem.

To nie jest sesja, która próbuje wszystkich przekonać, że jest „delikatna”, „kobieca” albo „subtelna”.

[ENG] I am not interested in smoothing the subject over like that.

A woman’s body does not need to be wrapped in safe words to become acceptable. Not every photograph has to be polite, romantic, and accompanied by a disclaimer saying: don’t worry, it’s art.

[PL] Nie interesuje mnie takie wygładzanie tematu.

Kobiece ciało nie musi być natychmiast pakowane w bezpieczne słowa, żeby stało się akceptowalne. Nie każde zdjęcie musi być grzeczne, romantyczne i opatrzone instrukcją: „spokojnie, to sztuka”.

[ENG] Sometimes an image can be sensual.
Sometimes it can be bold.
Sometimes it can be ambiguous.
Sometimes it can be deeply physical.

And still be a photograph built on conscious work with light, colour, composition and emotion.

[PL] Czasem zdjęcie może być zmysłowe.
Czasem może być odważne.
Czasem może być niejednoznaczne.
Czasem może być po prostu bardzo fizyczne.

I nadal może być fotografią opartą na świadomej pracy ze światłem, kolorem, kompozycją i emocją.

[ENG] What interests me most about this session is that it can trigger very different reactions.

Someone will see eroticism.
Someone will see a portrait.
Someone will see the play of light.
Someone will stay with the atmosphere of the room.
Someone else will ask whether it is “appropriate”.

And that last question says a lot.

[PL] Najbardziej interesuje mnie w tej sesji to, że ona może uruchamiać różne reakcje.

Ktoś zobaczy w niej erotykę.
Ktoś zobaczy portret.
Ktoś zobaczy grę światła.
Ktoś zatrzyma się na klimacie wnętrza.
Ktoś inny zapyta, czy to „wypada”.

I to ostatnie pytanie mówi bardzo dużo.

[ENG] Not about the photographs.

About us.

Because photography of the body very quickly exposes not the model, but the viewer’s way of looking.

What we consider beautiful.
What we are afraid of.
What we try to moralise.
What we are willing to call art only once it stops making us uncomfortable.

[PL] Nie o zdjęciach.

O nas.

Bo fotografia ciała bardzo szybko obnaża nie modelkę, tylko sposób patrzenia widza.

To, co uznajemy za piękne.

[ENG] Most people say they want “beautiful photos.”

And honestly - that’s where the problem starts.

Because “beautiful” usually means safe. Polished. Obedient. Pleasant enough for your aunt. Acceptable on LinkedIn. Bland enough to make absolutely no one feel anything.

And I have zero tolerance for bland.

[PL] Większość ludzi chce mieć „ładne zdjęcia”.

I już tu zaczyna się problem.

Bo „ładne” to najczęściej znaczy: bezpieczne, wygładzone, posłuszne, miłe dla cioci, akceptowalne na LinkedInie i wystarczająco nijakie, żeby nikt nie poczuł absolutnie nic.

A ja mam alergię na nijakość.

[ENG] I’m not interested in portraits that look like they were taken in life’s waiting room.
I’m not interested in images that whisper to the algorithm, “please show me to people, but only if I don’t make anyone uncomfortable.”
I’m not interested in frames that smell like lukewarm water, beige feeds and a deep, spiritual fear of being remembered.

[PL] Nie interesuje mnie robienie portretów, które wyglądają jakby powstały w poczekalni do życia.
Nie interesują mnie zdjęcia, które proszą algorytm: „proszę, pokaż mnie komuś, ale tylko jeśli nikogo nie urażę”.

This is not visual chamomile tea.

This is the moment a person steps into the frame and stops behaving like a well-arranged product on a shelf.

Because a portrait is not here to prove that your face is symmetrical.

Tired of lighting arranged so carefully it never accidentally reveals too much truth.

Sometimes the best image begins when something cracks.

[PL] Nie.

Aesthetics are just the weapon.

The light? It’s meant to cut.

This one didn’t.

[PL] Są sesje, które próbują być subtelne.

Ta nie próbowała.

[ENG] From the very first frame, it was obvious we weren’t about to tell another polite little story about softness, fragility, and the accidental glance over a shoulder. This had to hit harder. More sensual. More cinematic. More shameless.

[PL] Od pierwszego kadru było jasne, że nie będziemy udawać grzecznej historii o delikatności, eteryczności i przypadkowym spojrzeniu w bok. Tu wszystko miało być mocniejsze. Bardziej cielesne. Bardziej filmowe. Bardziej bezczelne.

[ENG] Red against cold blue light. Skin against black tile. Soft water against hard reflections in the mirror. A bathroom that stopped being just a bathroom and started looking like a scene from a film nobody had the nerve to finish.

And that was exactly the point.

[PL] Czerwień kontra chłód niebieskiego światła. Skóra kontra czarne płytki. Miękka woda kontra twarde odbicia w lustrze. Łazienka, która zamiast być zwykłym wnętrzem, zaczęła wyglądać jak scena z filmu, którego nikt nie odważył się nakręcić do końca.

I właśnie o to chodziło.

[ENG] This was never about making “pretty pictures.” Pretty pictures are safe. Pretty pictures look good for three seconds, then disappear into the scroll with the coffee shots, manicures, and another forgettable sunset.

I wanted something else.

I wanted an image that doesn’t knock before entering. An image that walks in and takes over the room.

[PL] Nie o „ładne zdjęcia”. Ładne zdjęcia są bezpieczne. Ładne zdjęcia dobrze wyglądają przez trzy sekundy, a potem znikają w scrollu razem z kawą, paznokciami i kolejnym zachodem słońca.

Tutaj chciałem czegoś innego.

Chciałem obrazu, który nie pyta, czy może wejść. Obrazu, który od razu zajmuje miejsce.

[ENG] The model, wrapped in a sheer red shirt, became the axis of the whole story. Not just because the color was bold, but because red never stays neutral. Red always says something. Desire. Risk. Power. The kind of mistake that might be worth making.

[PL] Modelka w czerwonej, półprzezroczystej koszuli stała się osią całej historii. Nie dlatego, że kolor był mocny. Dlatego, że w tym kolorze nie da się być neutralnym. Czerwień zawsze coś deklaruje. Pożądanie. Ryzyko. Siłę. Błąd, który być może warto popełnić.

[ENG] Then came the blue light - cold, sharp, almost surgical - slicing her away from the background like a neon blade. In that kind of contrast, the face starts saying more than the pose ever could. A gesture stops being just a gesture. A mirror stops reflecting a person and starts reflecting a second version of the story.

[PL] Do tego niebieskie światło, zimne i ostre, które odcinało ciało od tła jak neonowy nóż. W takim kontraście twarz zaczyna opowiadać więcej niż poza. Spojrzenie robi się cięższe. Gest przestaje być tylko gestem. Lustro nie odbija już człowieka, tylko drugą wersję tej samej historii.

[ENG] Part truth. Part performance. Part lie dressed up better than reality.

That’s probably what I love most about this shoot - it refuses to be easy to define.

[PL] Trochę prawdy. Trochę kreacji. Trochę kłamstwa, które wygląda lepiej niż rzeczywistość.

Najbardziej lubię w tej sesji to, że ona nie próbuje być jednoznaczna.

[ENG] There’s tension in it, but not the cheap, obvious kind. There’s sensuality, but none of that plastic, mass-produced “sexy.” There’s a body, but it’s never treated like a prop. And there’s light that doesn’t smooth everything into Instagram mush, but gives the whole thing character.

[PL] Jest w niej napięcie, ale nie ma taniego dosłownego efektu. Jest zmysłowość, ale bez plastikowego „sexy”. Jest ciało, ale nie potraktowane jak rekwizyt. Jest światło, które nie wygładza wszystkiego do instagramowej papki, tylko buduje charakter.

[ENG] Because photography doesn’t always have to flatter.

Sometimes it should scratch.

[PL] Bo fotografia nie musi zawsze głaskać.

Czasem powinna podrapać.

[ENG] It should leave you with more than a quick “beautiful shot.” It should trigger an uncomfortable question: why did this image stop me? What exactly is working here? The color? The gaze? The water? The mirror? Or maybe the fact that, for a second, we’re looking at someone who isn’t trying to please anyone.

[PL] Powinna zostawić po sobie coś więcej niż komentarz „piękne zdjęcie”. Powinna uruchomić niewygodne pytanie: dlaczego ten obraz mnie zatrzymał? Co tu właściwie działa? Kolor? Spojrzenie? Woda? Lustro? A może to, że przez chwilę patrzymy na kogoś, kto nie próbuje nam się przypodobać?

[ENG] This shoot was about control - and losing it.

[PL] To była sesja o kontroli i jej utracie.

[ENG] About light stripping a space down to pure emotion.

For many people, it means soft light, an expensive interior, satin, and an aesthetic that tries a little too hard to look exclusive. Everything polished, safe, and predictable.

This session was created inside a greenhouse. In the damp, in the cold, in a space that smells more like earth and rust than anything you’d find in a luxury catalog. And that’s exactly why it works.

[PL] Prawdziwy premium zaczyna się tam, gdzie obraz ma klasę, ale nie traci charakteru. Gdzie zmysłowość nie jest tania. Gdzie estetyka nie prosi o uwagę - tylko bierze ją bez pytania.

[ENG] Class doesn’t need decoration

The biggest mistake in sensual photography? Confusing quality with excess.

Too much posing.
Too much styling.
Too much retouching.
Too much effort to make the image scream, from the very first second, “look how bold this is.”

[PL] Klasa nie potrzebuje dekoracji

Największy błąd w fotografii sensualnej? Mylenie jakości z nadmiarem.

Za dużo pozy.
Za dużo stylizacji.
Za dużo obróbki.
Za dużo chęci, żeby zdjęcie od pierwszej sekundy krzyczało: „zobacz, jakie jest odważne”.

[ENG] But a strong frame doesn’t need to scream.
It simply holds its ground.

Everything here is built on the tension between the softness of the body and the rawness of the location. The cold tones, wet skin, rust, plastic, and muted light did more than many expensive sets ever could.

On po prostu trzyma poziom.

[ENG] Sensuality without cheap tricks

Not every sensual session is stylish. And not every nude image is brave.

Sometimes it’s just excess dressed up as confidence. Sometimes it’s cliché pretending to be art.

[PL] Zmysłowość bez tanich sztuczek

Nie każda sensualna sesja jest stylowa. I nie każda nagość jest odważna.

Czasem to tylko przesada opakowana w pewność siebie. A czasem banał, który bardzo chce udawać sztukę.

[ENG] Here, I wanted the opposite: images that feel confident without being vulgar. Bold without being desperate. Luxurious without being polished to the point of losing their character.

Because you can show a lot and still say very little.
Or you can create a frame with taste, tension, and class.

[PL] Tutaj zależało mi na czymś odwrotnym: zdjęciach pewnych siebie, ale nie wulgarnych. Śmiałych, ale nie desperackich. Luksusowych, ale nie wymuskanych do utraty charakteru.

[ENG] I don’t make images that are meant to please everyone

That would be the fastest way to create work with no edge, no tension, no identity.

The most lifeless frames happen when a photographer wants to be liked too much. When everything gets polished until all the character disappears. When correctness is chosen over tension. When good manners are chosen over class.

And “well-behaved” rarely looks premium.

[PL] Nie robię zdjęć, które mają się wszystkim podobać

To byłby najszybszy sposób, żeby robić fotografie kompletnie nijakie.

It knows how far it can go.
It knows what it doesn’t need to prove.
And it knows it doesn’t need everyone’s approval.

This session is exactly that. It doesn’t explain itself. It doesn’t flirt for validation. It doesn’t ask to be accepted. It simply steps into the frame and owns it.

[PL] Premium ma swoją bezczelność.
Wie, ile może pokazać.

That would be too flat. Too easy. Too obvious.

These images are about aesthetic confidence. About control. About building a frame that is sensual without feeling cheap. Strong without being aggressive. Intimate while still refined.

And that is exactly what separates photography with class from photography that only pretends to be bold.

[PL] To nie są zdjęcia o „ładnym ciele”

To byłoby zbyt płaskie. Zbyt łatwe. Zbyt banalne.

To są zdjęcia o estetycznej pewności. O kontroli. O umiejętności zbudowania obrazu, który jest sensualny, ale nie tani. Mocny, ale nie nachalny. Intymny, ale nadal wyrafinowany.

I właśnie to odróżnia fotografię z klasą od fotografii, która tylko udaje odwagę.

[ENG] This session did not need many extras. Three things were enough: a strong gown, the right location, and a woman who could carry the frame with her presence. Everything else was simply a matter of light, proportion, and attention to detail.

[PL] Ta sesja nie potrzebowała wielu dodatków. Wystarczyły trzy rzeczy: mocna suknia, dobre miejsce i kobieta, która potrafiła unieść ten kadr swoją obecnością. Reszta była już tylko pracą światła, proporcji i uważności na detal.

[ENG] From the very first glance, it was clear that the styling would lead this story. The deep, rich blue of the gown immediately set the tone for the entire shoot. It carried a certain weight of elegance, yet there was also something incredibly soft and fluid about it - something that could completely transform the mood of the frame once it began to move. This was not the kind of styling you simply photograph. It needed the right setting around it. A setting that would not function as a background alone, but would become a natural counterpart to the image itself.

[PL] Od pierwszego spojrzenia było jasne, że to stylizacja będzie prowadzić tę historię. Głęboki, nasycony błękit sukni od razu narzucał ton całej sesji. Był w nim ciężar elegancji, ale też coś niezwykle miękkiego i płynnego - coś, co w ruchu potrafiło całkowicie zmienić charakter kadru. To nie była stylizacja, którą wystarczy po prostu sfotografować. Trzeba było zbudować dla niej odpowiednią przestrzeń. Taką, która nie będzie tylko tłem, ale stanie się naturalnym partnerem dla całego obrazu.

[ENG] That is exactly why the location mattered so much. The bright architecture, the soft rhythm of the stairs, the railings, the ordered lines of the building, and the walls covered in greenery created a scene that carried both calm and refinement from the start. Nothing here felt accidental or overly decorative. It was a space that did not dominate, but quietly structured the image. Because of that, the viewer’s attention could remain exactly where it belonged - on the silhouette, the gesture, the fabric, and the atmosphere created between those elements.

[PL] Właśnie dlatego tak duże znaczenie miało miejsce. Jasna architektura, miękki rytm schodów, balustrady, uporządkowane linie budynku i ściany porośnięte zielenią stworzyły scenerię, która od początku niosła w sobie klasę i spokój. Nie było tu nic przypadkowego ani nadmiernie dekoracyjnego. To przestrzeń, która nie dominuje, ale subtelnie porządkuje obraz. Dzięki temu cała uwaga mogła pozostać tam, gdzie powinna - na sylwetce, geście, materiale i atmosferze budowanej między tymi elementami.

[ENG] What interests me most in work like this is the tension created by contrast. The softness of the fabric set against architecture. [ENG] Every element in this session worked toward the same result. The gown was not an accessory - it was one of the main protagonists of the entire story. Its volume, layers, and the way it settled into the space gave the frames movement, lightness, and a certain visual drama. In some images it felt monumental, almost sculptural. In others it became soft and understated, gently guiding the eye through the composition. I always value those moments when fabric begins to work so naturally with the body and the space that it starts shaping part of the narrative on its own.

[PL] Każdy element tej sesji pracował na wspólny efekt. Suknia nie była dodatkiem - była jednym z głównych bohaterów całej historii. Jej objętość, warstwowość i sposób, w jaki układała się w przestrzeni, nadawały kadrom ruch, lekkość i pewną formę wizualnej dramaturgii. W jednych ujęciach była bardziej monumentalna, niemal rzeźbiarska. W innych stawała się miękka, subtelna, prowadząca wzrok po obrazie. Lubię momenty, w których materiał zaczyna współpracować z ciałem i przestrzenią tak dobrze, że właściwie sam buduje część narracji.

[ENG] The model’s presence was equally important. In this kind of shoot, it is very easy to go too far - with gesture, expression, or pose. Here, however, the strength came from restraint. From a presence that felt natural and unforced, one that did not need theatricality in order to hold attention. It is one of the qualities of feminine strength I appreciate most in photography: calm, self-aware, understated, and therefore even more powerful.

[PL] Równie ważna była obecność modelki. W tego typu sesjach bardzo łatwo przesadzić - z gestem, ekspresją, pozą. Tymczasem tutaj siła płynęła właśnie z opanowania. Z niewymuszonej obecności, która nie potrzebowała teatralności, by utrzymać uwagę widza. To jeden z tych rodzajów kobiecej siły, które w fotografii cenię najbardziej: spokojny, świadomy, nienachalny, a przez to jeszcze bardziej wyrazisty.

[ENG] I am always drawn to images that are not built around one obvious idea. In this series, each photograph had a slightly different center of gravity. Sometimes the scale of the location and the relationship between the figure and the architecture mattered most. At other times, the movement of the gown or the way the silhouette settled into the light became the key element. In other frames, it was the gaze or a small gesture that carried the full strength of the image. Because of that, the series never stayed within a single aesthetic note. It developed from frame to frame while remaining cohesive throughout.

[PL] Bardzo lubię pracować nad kadrami, które nie opierają się na jednym oczywistym pomyśle. Tutaj każda fotografia miała nieco inny środek ciężkości. Raz bardziej liczyła się skala miejsca i relacja postaci z architekturą. Innym razem najważniejszy stawał się sam ruch sukni albo sposób, w jaki sylwetka układała się w świetle. W kolejnych ujęciach to spojrzenie lub drobny gest budowały całą siłę obrazu. Dzięki temu ta seria nie zamknęła się w jednej estetycznej nucie, ale mogła rozwijać się z kadru na kadr, pozostając jednocześnie spójną.

[ENG] That sense of cohesion is one of the things I value most in this kind of photography. It is not only about making images that are beautiful or striking. I am interested in something deeper - in making sure that every element moves in the same direction. That the color feels intentional. That the location is more than decoration. That the pose grows out of the character of the shoot rather than repeating familiar formulas. Only then does an image begin to develop its own tone and identity.

[PL] To właśnie spójność jest dla mnie jedną z największych wartości w fotografii tego typu. Nie chodzi tylko o to, by zdjęcia były „ładne” czy efektowne. Interesuje mnie coś więcej - żeby każdy element pracował w tym samym kierunku. Żeby kolor nie był przypadkowy. Żeby miejsce nie było tylko dekoracją. Żeby poza wynikała z charakteru sesji, a nie była mechanicznym odtworzeniem znanych rozwiązań. Dopiero wtedy obraz zaczyna mieć własny ton i własną tożsamość.

[ENG] Light also played an essential role in this series. It did not dominate or try to take control of the frame, but instead brought order to the image and revealed what mattered most. It emphasized the texture of the fabric, shaped the silhouette, separated the figure from the background, and preserved a sense of subtlety in places where stronger contrast might have taken away the lightness of the photographs. I am always drawn to this kind of light - quiet in its presence, yet remarkably effective.

[PL] W tej serii bardzo istotną rolę odegrało również światło. Nie dominowało, nie próbowało przejąć całej uwagi, ale porządkowało obraz i wydobywało to, co najważniejsze. Podkreślało fakturę materiału, rysowało sylwetkę, oddzielało postać od tła i pozwalało zachować subtelność tam, gdzie zbyt mocny kontrast mógłby odebrać zdjęciom lekkość. Lubię takie światło - pracujące cicho, ale niezwykle skutecznie.

[ENG] The longer I look at this series, the more I realize that its strength does not come from one spectacular element alone. Not from the gown itself. Not from the location on its own. Not from the architecture, the color, or the composition separately. It comes from the meeting of all these qualities in a single moment. Sometimes that is exactly what is most valuable in photography - not an excess of means, but the ability to bring them together in a way that allows them to resonate with one another.

[PL] Im dłużej patrzę na tę serię, tym bardziej widzę, że jej siła nie wynika z jednego spektakularnego elementu. Nie z samej sukni. Nie z samego miejsca. Nie z architektury, koloru czy kompozycji osobno. To efekt spotkania wszystkich tych jakości w jednym momencie. [ENG] These are the kinds of projects that stay with me the longest. The ones in which photography does not try to be loud, yet still leaves a distinct trace. The ones that rely not only on visual impact, but on atmosphere and consistency. The ones in which an image does more than simply show - it truly communicates something.

And perhaps that is why this series feels so close to me. Because it reminds me that in photography, the greatest strength often lies in what has been carefully balanced.

[ENG] What fascinates me most about images like these is that they are not only about appearance. They are about a state of being. About sensuality that does not need literalness or excess. I love when nature leaves its trace on the skin, when you can feel the water, the cold, the moisture, the weight of the air, and the organic character of the place within the frame. Then the image is not only aesthetic. It becomes alive. It stops being just a beautiful photograph and becomes an experience - something you feel more than simply look at.

[PL] Lubię zdjęcia, które nie są sterylne. Lubię, kiedy natura zostawia na skórze swój ślad, kiedy w kadrze czuć wodę, chłód, wilgoć, ciężar powietrza i organiczność miejsca. It did not reveal itself all at once.
At first, it was a promise. A touch that soothed. A presence that made one want to close their eyes and stay a little longer. There was something gentle in it, something that made it possible to believe that closeness could heal everything that had hurt before.

(ENG) There are moments that come back to you completely unexpectedly.
Without warning. Without context.
You open a folder you haven’t looked at in years… and suddenly, you’re in a different time.

That’s exactly how I found these images.

2013.
My last analog shoot.

(PL) Są takie momenty, które wracają do Ciebie zupełnie niespodziewanie.
Bez zapowiedzi. Bez kontekstu.
Otwierasz folder, którego dawno nie widziałeś… i nagle jesteś w innym czasie.

Te zdjęcia znalazłem właśnie w taki sposób.

Rok 2013.
Moja ostatnia sesja analogowa.

(ENG) I remember it more through emotions than through facts.

Soft light falling through the window. Silence in the room. That distinctive rhythm of work - slower, more deliberate. Every frame carried weight. Every click was a decision.

At the time, I was shooting with my beloved medium format Contax 645 paired with the Zeiss Planar 80/2. A camera that, for a long time, was more than just a tool to me. It was a promise of an image.

That rendering.
That bokeh.
That “something” you can’t put into a single word.

(PL) Pamiętam ją bardziej przez emocje niż przez fakty.

Miękkie światło wpadające przez okno. Ciszę w pomieszczeniu. Ten charakterystyczny rytm pracy - wolniejszy, bardziej uważny. Każde ujęcie miało wagę. Każde kliknięcie było decyzją.

Fotografowałem wtedy swoim ukochanym średnioformatowym Contaxem 645 z Zeiss Planar 80/2. Sprzętem, który przez długi czas był dla mnie czymś więcej niż narzędziem. Był obietnicą obrazu.

Tej plastyczności.
Tego bokehu.
Tego „czegoś”, czego nie da się nazwać jednym słowem.

(ENG) Looking at these frames today, I feel exactly what people still praise film for.

It’s not just about the grain.
It’s not just about tonal range.

It’s about unpredictability.

(PL) Patrząc dziś na te kadry, czuję dokładnie to, za co ludzie do dziś wychwalają analog.

Nie chodzi tylko o ziarno.
Nie chodzi tylko o dynamikę tonalną.

Chodzi o nieprzewidywalność.

(ENG) It’s that the image isn’t perfect - and that’s exactly why it feels real.
The light isn’t “clean,” but soft, slightly diffused, as if wrapped in air.
The skin isn’t flawless - but it’s alive. It breathes.

There’s something else in these images.
A quiet intimacy. A sense of calm.
As if time slowed down for just a moment… and let you see it.

That’s the mystique everyone talks about.
But can never fully explain.

(PL) O to, że obraz nie jest perfekcyjny - i właśnie dlatego jest prawdziwy.
Światło nie jest „czyste”, tylko miękkie, lekko rozlane, jakby otulone powietrzem.
Skóra nie jest idealna - ale żyje. Oddycha.

W tych zdjęciach jest coś jeszcze.
Delikatna intymność. Spokój.
Jakby czas zwolnił tylko na chwilę… i pozwolił to zobaczyć.

To właśnie ta mistyczność, o której wszyscy mówią.
Ale której nie da się w pełni wytłumaczyć.

(ENG) And then… it ended.

After that session, I sold the Contax.

Not because I stopped loving that look.
Quite the opposite - because I started to understand it.

(PL) A potem… to się skończyło.

Po tej sesji sprzedałem Contaxa.

Nie dlatego, że przestałem kochać ten obraz.
Wręcz przeciwnie - dlatego, że zacząłem go rozumieć.

(ENG) Over time, I realized that the rendering and bokeh that once felt “magical” were things I was starting to achieve with digital gear.

I became more intentional with light. I framed differently.

I knew what I was looking for.

(PL) Z czasem zauważyłem, że plastyczność i bokeh, które wcześniej wydawały się „magiczne”, zaczynam osiągać na sprzęcie cyfrowym.

Świadomiej dobierałem światło. Kadrowałem inaczej.

Wiedziałem, czego szukam.

(ENG) And then came post-processing.

And suddenly, what once felt like the “magic of film”… more and more often turned out to be the result of decisions.

Color. Contrast. Skin tones.
Mood.

All of it was something I could now create myself.

(PL) A potem przyszła obróbka.

I nagle okazało się, że to, co kiedyś było „zasługą kliszy”… coraz częściej było zasługą decyzji.

Kolor. Kontrast. Tonacja skóry.
Klimat.

To wszystko mogłem już zbudować sam.

(ENG) Film isn’t magic.

It’s a language.

If you don’t know what you want to say - no gear will say it for you.
But if you do… you can say it with anything.

(PL) Analog nie jest magią.

Jest językiem.

Jeśli nie wiesz, co chcesz powiedzieć - sprzęt nie zrobi tego za Ciebie.
Ale jeśli wiesz… możesz powiedzieć to czymkolwiek.

(ENG) These images matter to me not because they’re “analog.”
But because they marked a turning point.

From being in love with the tool…
to understanding the image.

(PL) Te zdjęcia są dla mnie ważne nie dlatego, że są „analogowe”.
Tylko dlatego, że były momentem przejścia.

Z zachwytu narzędziem…
do zrozumienia obrazu.

(ENG) And maybe that’s exactly why I keep coming back to them.

Because they remind me of something very simple.

It’s not the camera that creates the mood.
It’s not the lens that creates emotion.

(PL) I może właśnie dlatego do nich wracam.

Bo przypominają mi coś bardzo prostego.

To nie aparat robi klimat.
To nie obiektyw tworzy emocje.

And you’re the one who decides how to show it.

And film?

It just sometimes helps you feel it more deeply.

(PL) To Ty widzisz.
I Ty decydujesz, jak to pokażesz.

A analog?

On tylko czasem pomaga Ci to poczuć mocniej.

(PL) Są takie zdjęcia, które nie powstają z potrzeby pokazania twarzy.
Powstają z potrzeby pokazania emocji.

(ENG) From the very beginning, this session was never meant to be “beautiful” in the traditional sense.
It was not about perfectly styled hair, a flawless frame, or controlling every gesture.
It was about something far more interesting - that moment when a woman stops performing and simply is.

(PL) Ta sesja od początku nie miała być „ładna” w klasycznym rozumieniu.
Nie chodziło o idealnie ułożone włosy, perfekcyjny kadr ani o kontrolę każdego gestu.
Chodziło o coś znacznie bardziej interesującego - o moment, w którym kobieta przestaje grać, a zaczyna po prostu być.

(ENG) Black and white felt like the most natural choice here.
It stripped away everything unnecessary.
What remained was only what mattered most: light, texture, a gaze, the tension of the lips, wet hair, hands against the face, movement, breath, silence.
Without color, emotions speak louder. There is nowhere to hide from them.

(PL) Czerń i biel okazały się tutaj naturalnym wyborem.
Zabrały ze zdjęć wszystko, co zbędne.
Zostawiły tylko to, co najważniejsze: światło, fakturę, spojrzenie, napięcie ust, mokre włosy, dłonie przy twarzy, ruch, oddech, ciszę.
Bez koloru emocje wybrzmiewają mocniej. Nie da się przed nimi schować.

(ENG) What fascinates me most in sessions like this is that beauty is not born from perfection.
It is born from authenticity.
From a slightly blurred movement.
From a strand of hair falling across the face not when it “should,” but exactly when it needs to.
From closed eyes, an unfinished gaze, a smile that lasts for only a second and disappears.

(PL) W takich sesjach najbardziej fascynuje mnie to, że piękno nie rodzi się z perfekcji.
Rodzi się z autentyczności.
Z lekko rozmazanego ruchu.
Z włosa, który spada na twarz nie wtedy, kiedy „powinien”, ale dokładnie wtedy, kiedy trzeba.
Z zamkniętych oczu, z niedopowiedzianego spojrzenia, z uśmiechu, który trwa sekundę i znika.
